Introducing Chestnut News

Chestnut now has a home for product news: release notes, feature deep-dives, and workflow recipes, published here and inside the app itself.

Chestnut is the workhorse terminal for Claude Code: it runs your sessions with automations built in, keeps every conversation searchable on your machine, shows you where work goes wrong, and feeds your own history back to Claude mid-session. Until today, the only way to hear about what's new in Chestnut was to watch the repository.

This page fixes that. Chestnut News is where we'll publish:

  • Release notes: what shipped in each version, and why it matters.
  • Feature deep-dives: a closer look at one capability, like full-text search across your whole Claude Code history or friction analytics.
  • Workflow recipes: practical patterns for getting more out of Claude Code with Chestnut alongside it.
  • Announcements: launch news, like this post.

Written once, read everywhere

Every post here is a plain Markdown file in the Chestnut repository, and publishing one is merging a pull request. The same posts also feed a machine-readable channel that the desktop app reads, so product news lands on the app's front page as well as on the web. One authoring path, two surfaces.

Where Chestnut is today

Chestnut runs on macOS. The terminal, search, friction analysis, summaries, the Notebook, and Claude's access to its own history all ship today. If that sounds useful, download the latest build, and check back here for what's new.
